Vivid Sydney A festival of lights, music and ideas

Vivid light enters its twelfth year in 2020, held over 4 fabulous weeks 22May to 13 June. It’s the largest festival of its kind in Australia and in fact the entire Southern Hemisphere. Using 100% green power it’s great for the environment too.

The Opera house takes on many new gowns during the vivid festival, from abstract and colourful to contemporary and beautiful and even the occasional wildlife such as these butterflies.

The Harbour Bridge is one of the most spectacular Icons displaying the vivid colours of the light show. The lighting up of the harbour makes for great night-time entertainment.

What’s in my kit: Nikon D700 and D 800 Camera, 14-24mm lens, 24-70mm lens and 70-200mm lens, and my trusty Manfrotto tripod.

Photography Tips: Use a tripod at all times, for night shots. ISO varies because of moving displays, also need faster shutter speeds to prevent movement.
